Hi Info,

If you don't need to do any editing, Snagit would work. If you want to do any editing at all: zooms, callouts, etc. Camtasia is what you should be looking at. I would recommend utilizing the free trials to determine which application best suits your needs.

Snagit 13 will do simple edits, like trimming a few seconds from the beginning or end of a video, or removing a few seconds in the middle. That level of editing has been all I need so far, and I find Snagit extremely easy to use, so its my current favorite tool for creating videos.

My only question is why the 15 minute limit?  Have you bumped up against some type of limit due to a computer setting or memory limit?  As far as I know, there is no time limit using either of the software mentioned above

I have recorded for 2 hours and 25 minutes continuously with Snagit and had no problems. Import Snagit into Camtasia and edit fine.

I find that Camtasia screen recorder not as reliable for long recording.
