Help: MP4 Video Distorted When Imported in Camtasia

When I import an MP4 file (video edited and produced using Adobe Premiere Pro), the audio and the video is distorted. When played outside of Camtasia the video looks and sounds great. When played in Camtasia, and produced out of Camtasia, the quality is horrible. Text in the video is blurry and the sound has a lot of sharp "s's" and is crackly.

Video Properties:

Audio Format - 48.000 kHz, 16 Bit, Stereo

Video Format - 1920 x 1080, 29.97 Frames/Second, H.264 (AVC1)

Suggestions on how to import the video and not lower the quality?

Hi there

Sadly I personally don't have anything to offer as to what you might consider changing for better quality. But I do have a question. Why are you wanting to bring a video from PP to Camtasia? I think more often than not, if someone uses PP, they work the other way around. Perhaps creating a video using Camtasia, then popping it into PP for further enhancements.

Cheers... Rick :)

I hear yeah! I'm attempting a work around right now because I'm having issues with PP. The program crashes upon launch and we (IT department) can't figure out the issue. This is the third time we've encountered a problem, always when the program goes through an update. Sadly, it isn't an easy fix and seems to be a huge issue every time. They've (IT) has been trying to troubleshoot for weeks.

Sigh...

If you were able to bring the original clip in as AVI (original format before render to MP4) that would be a much better starting point.
