Here is another BAD surprise I discovered today...MTS files DO NOT WORK

Camtasia 9 is billed as being able to use the MTS file format as an input file.  I made two recordings today on my Canon XA10.  The total recording time was approximately 60 minutes long.  I brought the first file into the Media Input and Camtasia read the file and opened it for me.  Without doing anything else, I clicked on the play button.  Two problems appeared immediately.

1. The audio portion of the recording skipped as if it was missing input data every half a second or so.

2. Worse than the audio input was the video input.  It was as though I was looking at a series of stills that were shot and then stitched together.  the video portion of the recording was jerky and 100% useless for this project.

By the way, I am running Camtasia on a Dell XPS8500 with 24 GB of RAM and the input file (the MTS file) is housed on a 2 TB SSD so I did not expect such delays.

At this point I have given up on Camtasia 9 and I will recommend to all of my 3,000 customers that they stay away from Camtasia 9 until Camtasia 10 is introduced a few years from now.  Fortunately, I am a subscriber to Adobe's Creative Suite so I can process these videos as I have in the past with Premier Pro CC.  I also have a copy of Corel VideoStudio X9 which I am just now learning how to use.  From what I have seen, Corel VideoStudio X9 is far superior to Camtasia 9. If anyone is looking for a fast path to processing their MTS file I encourage you to look at Corel VideoStudio X9 instead of Camtasia 9.
