I made a Scorm file, consits of a long video, which i edited in camtasia ( 3 hour) and the video file is 1,5 Gb big. Has anyone an idea how i can make the video smaller? are there some settings maybe? greez marcel
Three hours. Wow! Normally an LMS delivers content that is consumed by the learner and a report is sent back to the LMS after they are quizzed. Normally this means videos that are vastly shorter than three hours.
You might try running the video through an application called Handbrake. That has been known to reduce the size of the videos. But even that may not be enough.
Honestly, you are likely going to need to break this into several smaller videos.
Oh, also, there's really no such thing as a simple SCORM file. (SCORM means Sharable Content Object Reference Model) It is a protocol that defines how communication is supposed to work with eLearning content and LMS' that deliver said content.
hi Rick, thx for your fast answer :-) yes its a lecture for students and we wanted to place it on our LMS, but upload limit is 512 GB....and i tried it with camtasia, because the capitel makers... hmm i have no idea....handbrake i a possibility but i think it wont be more smaller ?? greez Marcel
