This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled Remove hover text from interactive hotspots.

When I hover the cursor over an interactive hotspot, this annoying hover text appears, "Hotspot: jump to time: 4:00". It exposes the inner workings of the interactivity and looks unprofessional, but I can't seem to find anyway to turn off this "feature". I don't understand why anyone would want this, but it seems this was added in Camtasia 9. Is there some way to turn it off or at least change the text to something helpful?

This would be awesome.
A viewer seeing the hotspot variable is not cool.

Also relative urls for hotspots would be a major plus.

We've updated the status of this idea to Under Consideration.

Given the number of ideas of ahead of this one we are keeping this idea under consideration but looking to address others ideas higher on the list first. We’ll update this post as capacity opens up and we can plan for additional ideas.

If hearing from more people speeds this up a bit, I want to add my vote on this - the hover text really harshes the immersive vibe during a system simulation.

This could also affect compliance with the American Disabilities Act Section 508.

Would that make this higher priority?

I'm a bit new to ADA compliance, but I think that these interactive hotspots in my videos, without any alt-text, don't comply. If I were able to edit the hover text to describe the button (eg. the same text as written in the image or a written description of a picture), then this text could be read by screen readers for vision impaired individuals.

Maybe someone here knows more about this than I do.

This is important. At the very least, we should be able to customize this text for AODA compliance.
