I want to be able to save my Highlight effect so I don't have to remember my settings every time I start a new project. I also want to save my Cursor size. Would you please add this to Camtasia Studio it can't be that difficult to do this.

I'm not sure where exactly you are referring to the Highlight effect. But one way to save things such as this is by selecting some media with the effect applied and adding that to your library.

Hi Rick
You mean I can save a recording with the settings I like and then when I start a brand new project apply those settings to the brand new project?  I did not know this.
I save my recordings all the time but I see no way to apply the cursor and highlight settings from an old project to my new project to edit.  Please explain how I can do this.

Hello again

Is it possible for you to record a brief video of what you are doing and what you want to do? Then just share the video here via ScreenCast.com.

It will be much easier for folks to know what to advise if we are able to look over your shoulder and actually see what is happening.

Cheers... Rick :)

Hi Rick,
There really is nothing to record!!!!  I only want to be able to save my highlight settings for future recordings, Camtasia will either allow me to do this or not.  It is a yes or no answer.

You may think it's a simple yes or no answer. What I hoped to see was you saying here is the effect I'm trying to do.

There are some things that are possible to achieve via the library. The problem is, we don't know exactly what it is you are trying to do. So in this case, I'm just going to have to say that there *MAY* be a way to achieve what you want, but without knowing what you mean by "Highlight effect", we won't ever know. ;)

Maybe you can perhaps try better articulating what you mean by just typing it out? (I just figured a video would be simpler)

Something like: What I'm referring to is selecting this clip, then clicking this gizmo. Then doing that.

Cheers... Rick :)

bottom line: you cannot save cursor properties as a profile to apply later

Thanks, I pretty much figured that out now.  What I would like is for Camtasia to have that option available in a future (not too future) update.
Would anyone else like to have this feature available?

Thanks that is a brilliant video, let's hope that Camtasia pays attention to this easy request.  It is badly needed.
