It's really necessary having the possibility to highlight the cursor in Camtasia Mac in different ways.

Yes it is. Seems to work in the PC-version. Why not on the Mac?

Hi Daniel. Currently we do not have cursor effects available in Camtasia for Mac. Our developers are considering this as a potential feature in a future version.

You can use third-party cursor enhancement software if you need cursor effects presently. Desktastic, OmniDazzle, and MousePose are all available online and you may be able to find other similiar software. I believe that only MousePose is Intel-native so the others won't run on Lion when it is released.

We appreciate hearing your request!

well, well, nice try, but when i doing usability testing, no one wants do distract the user with cursor highlights, while he is testing.

this needs to be added when you post-process the video.

i actually like camtasia, event though the video effects to the most, will not help me in any ways, but the missing cursor highlight effect is a definite plus for silverback, which i dislike for the missing editing features... my client likes it... i like it... so we will go for silverback... sorry to say.

a shame... since this feature seems to be a user request from version 1.0 on.

I tried Mousepose with Lion and it works well, but they have changed the price from $0.99 to $16.99. Having this feature native in Camtasia Mac would be great.

Yikes it looks like they did!

OmniDazzle still works fine, and I see a few other items in the Mac App Store that are less expensive, at least for use right now.

Thanks for the input.

Thanks David. Did you try OmniDazzle on Lion? On their website, it lists the requirements as Mac OS X 10.4.6 - 10.6.8 and your previous post suggested that it wouldn't work on Lion.

Yes I just tested it. OmniDazzle used to be a PowerPC program but Omni posted a Universal release that works fine with Lion.

Ok, that works fine, but it does not provide a sound or or bulls-eye when you click and it seems that you cannot have more than one feature active at a given time.

Wow, no marquee video in snagit mac, and no mouse effects in Camtasia mac - I really don't understand techsmith's idea of feature parity across platforms. So many of us purchased these products because of good experiences on the PC, and here we are with nerfed products because Techsmith can't develop on mac?

BTW ScreenFlow on Mac has mouse effects, and I use iShowUHD on Mac to compensate for the lack of marquee-select video capture in Snagit.

Great news...Cursor Effects are implemented in Camtasia for Mac 2 which is now available. They include highlight, spotlight, and magnify for the cursor itself, plus several very engaging click effects for both right and left clicks. Each effect can be customized as needed. Additionally, the cursor can be resized, and the opacity can be adjusted even to hide the mouse cursor completely if desired. Check out what's new here: http://www.techsmith.com/camtasia-mac...

We would love to hear what you think of the new cursor effects and the other new features too!
