Highlighter does not fade in and out as before

I noticed when updating a project in Camtasia 9 that a few instances of highlighter no longer work as before. In v8 they had a transition built in that faded in and out. The transition effect still appears on instances of using the Highlighter however there is no fade taking place in the preview window . I can add the Fade transition to new instances of Highlight from Annotations with same results.
I had to add an animation effect to change opacity to replicate the transition. Not sure if this is intentional or a bug? Anyone else see something I am missing?

I did notice this comment related to fade and annotations. Some good observations are included there.

I'll admit to not spending a lot of time on this yet, but other annotations seem to work as expected with transitions. This is just a problem I am seeing on a project with the Highlight annotation and the Fade transition.

OK, I guess I just had to wrap my head around the Behavior in this case and change my workflow. Behavior Fade does seem to work as expected... I just have a bunch of instances to update.

I cannot get fades to work either.  It allows you to put them on from transitions, but then does nothing.

I find that having to add an opacity animation in order to get a highlight annotation to fade in and out adds extra steps to the process and interrupts my workflow. It is also not intuitive, given that the fade transition works on other annotations. Can we please add the fade transition to the highlighter so that it works as it previously did in Camtasia 8? Or, give us the option (as in Camtasia 8) to automatically have a fade added to the beginning and end of each annotation. That made the workflow go so much faster.
