There are hotkeys for tasks I almost never do. I do this probably 100 times in a large video and have to right-click and choose from a large menu every time!! Please fix.

Hello, if I understand the request, you'd still have to specify which item(s) Camtasia should de-select. Have you tried holding down the Ctrl key and then clicking on the item(s) to be de-selected?

I am fine with selecting what to de-select; I just want to be able to go CTRL+D like I can with CTRL+X to remove the selection. It would be great if it would just automatically de-select after I do something, but it doesn't.

Did you try the CTRL key + click on the item? Just suggesting something that works now.

in CS9, if you have made a timeline selection with the playhead red/green tools, using ctl-D will collapse the red/green handles and remove the selection
or, if you have multiple items on timeline selected, just touch a empty place on timeline to deselect those items

I have tried clicking an empty place on the timeline and it DOES work (when there is one). I almost never have an empty space though! Thanks for the help.
