Hotkey not starting a capture immediately

I've assigned a hotkey to start a photo Capture. Every time I press the hotkey it opens the capture dialog (with the big red button), and I have to press the capture button to make it start.

I don't want to have to do it this way because it deactivates any flyouts that I'm trying to capture.

This has been a problem since I got a new computer (same OS, same everything) issued to me a month ago.

Can someone tell me if there is a different place to set the hotkey so it immediately starts the capture? I've been entering my hotkey into the space below the red button that says "Capture".

Hi there

Normally you can just create a preset and assign the hotkey to that. For me, I've been monkeying with my setup lately so I've kind of horked my own. LOL, "horked" is my technical term.

But when I press the hotkey, the capture begins immediately and I don't see the SnagIt window below.

You might try creating a preset and assigning the hotkey to that.

Cheers... Rick :)
