Hotkey to move the playhead inside a selection.

To add or subtract one frame at a time to a selection, there is a useful hotkey - ctrl+shift+arrow. The right arrow will move the selection to the right and the left arrow will move it left. However, this applies only to the side of the selection that is attached to the playhead. If the playhead is somewhere in the middle of the selection, the right arrow will move the red button to the right and the left arrow will move the green button to the left. I can't seem to find a way to move the playhead to snap to either button without using the mouse. So the whole point of the hotkey is lost...
Is there a hotkey for moving the playhead only, and for snapping it to either the red or green button?

BTW, the help menu doesn't explain the role of the playhead position. I had to figure that out myself, when the hotkeys didn't work as described. That's definitely something that needs to be corrected.

Hello,
Yes, you can just press the Arrow key to move the playhead over to the red or green buttons. When you have perfectly aligned the playhead with the green or red buttons, you will see a sort of color change from blue to gray to let you know you have snapped on to either of the buttons.

Also, can you let me know more about this:
"the help menu doesn't explain the role of the playhead position. I had to figure that out myself"

I'm not sure I understand what you mean and would like to know more.

Thanks!

Thanks for the quick reply! Yes, the arrow key moves the playhead separately, but is there a keystroke to make it snap to either side of the selection so I can quickly move it there?
Regarding my complaint about the help menu - under Camtasia Studio Hotkeys - it says nothing about how the position of the playhead affects which side of the selection moves.

Hi,
No, I'm sorry, there is no hotkey for what you need.
Can you tell me why you would need to do that?

And, after playing with this for a bit, I understand what you are saying about the behavior of the playhead. This is something I will bring up to the dev team to see if there is something we can do to enhance this workflow.

Thanks so much!
I am going to turn this over to a feature request post.

If, for instance, I play a large selection, and want to finetune the IN point, it's annoying to have to move the playhead back to the green button in order to adjust the selection. a hotkey would be very handy here. It's hard to be precise with the mouse and it strains your hands. Hotkeys are great time-savers and a healthier way to work. I wish you had more of them!
