hotspots don't work

I am trying to create a Jump to video movie.
My movie contains 4 .trec videos. The second video contains the transparent hotspots (3) to different Timeline Markers.
Two work fine, but a third hotspot doesn't work. I have tried and failed for 2 days now and give up.

please post a full screen screenshot of your project on timeline, with timeline zoomed to max zoom out [ctl-shift-7]; be sure to identify the hotspot callouts that are in the project, particularly the one that is not working

how long in duration are the hotspots?

where in time is the non-working hotspot scripted to jump to?

is there a quiz in the project?

when producing, have you tried setting keyframes to 1 second?

Sorry for the delay in responding kayaman and thank you.

I deleted all the markers and the hotspots and saved. I am creating the movies I need without these for now just to get the work done.

The hotspots ran for 4 seconds

The jump to was set to markers for a new trec movie and not to a mid movie point.

No quiz

No I haven't tried setting keyframe rate.

I am wondering if my hotspots were overlapping?

When I have completed all my movies I will try again.

overlapping hotspots should work; I use that configuration all the time without issue; I assuming you are using stop-at-end, go-to-marker hotspots?

Yes you assume correctly.

Thanks

regarding overlapping, "stacked" hotspots, make sure their end points are lined up exactly

Hi kayakman
Sorry about the delay. Attached is a screenshot of the hotspots + properties + one Marker.
None of the hotspots work in this case.

thank you for the screenshot

first, it looks like the selected hotspot targets a marker that is located at the end of that callout [at 13;03]; correct?  it looks like the target marker is at the same location as the stop-at-end-point for the hotspot?

try this ...

displace the target marker location a few frames to the right of the end of the hotspots; does that work?

I have occasionally seen instances where such [end-of-hotspot-marker] alignments have failed after the project is produced

and be sure keyframes are set to 1 second in the production wizard

All my Markers are set for the beginning of a movie further in the timeline. Do you think this will have a bearing?

as I stated in my [edited] post above, if a hotspot targets a location at the end of its stop-at-end-location, the hotspot may not work correctly

try displacing the target locations a few frames [5?] downstream; this has worked for me in the past

it has been a while since I worked regularly with CS8; so I did some test

with a similar configuration per your screen shot, I found the if the hotsots had fade outs, the bottom hotspot did not work correctly; removing the fade out fixed it

also, in my test, the hotspots with fade outs were stopping play 1 second short of the actual end of the callout [fadeout was 1 second duration so hotspots remained all in full view]

I've confirmed that displacing the marker down-timeline by 3 frames fixes the misbehaving hotspot

I finally added the jpg hotspot at the bottom of the stack; when the jpg covered the video area [hotspots still seen on top], the hotspots misbehaved

resizing the jpg hotspot so it did not underlie the other hotspots fixed that misbehavior

recommend you use a transparent hotspot instead of setting the jpg to hotspot property

what hotspot property did you set for the jpg?
