Thank you, now I am regretting upgrading to the new Snagit version. I used this hot spot application all the time in my training presentations. Now I will need to re-think. Once again thank you.

Hi apmitch98 - I sent an email to follow up with you on this. For transparency sake: we do offer refunds because we believe nobody should regret a TechSmith purchase. And we're interested in deepening our understanding of how customers are using hotspots today.

I have v.12 on my home PC, just got SnagIt at work and newest version seems to be missing hotspots.
I use them to simulate product usage like click a button and got to a new screen etc.
Sad now : (

Sorry to disappoint, Jeffery. FWIW, your new Snagit license at work will also unlock v12 if your admin is okay with you installing it alongside the new version. Old versions can be downloaded here.

Just curious...have you been finding a way to host the Flash hotspot files for your users? It's getting increasingly difficult to do out there.

Hey Daniel - It seems that almost everyone that has moved away from Flash has moved TOWARD HTML 5.

Are you able to share if TechSmith may be considering bringing the "hotspot" feature back but instead of Flash, using HTML 5?

Hi Rick - A big challenge of just generating HTML is that it's not immediately consumable and so requires some advanced knowledge by the user in order to upload and host it somewhere. We have no plans at present to support hotspot or image map generation in the short term (i.e., other requests and opportunities are above it in the priority list)...but if we do prioritize it to the top of the list later, I would want to explore whether we could satisfy the most common customer use cases by making hotspots a feature of TechSmith hosting (Screencast.com or TechSmith Relay). I suspect we could deliver a lot more value and a much richer experience that way. But I could be wrong about that.  :)

Thanks so much for the info! I note that while there aren't masses of requests for this, it seems I've seen more than a couple recently. So I pondering if that might be something that we may see coming down the pike.
