You can't insert a PP presentation. The import of the PP presentation is a PNG image file.  What you can do is export the presentation as a mp4 video file and import that into Camtasia.

One way is to export a movie from Power Point.

 And import into Camtasia.

And yet another way is to use the PowerPoint add in to launch the PPT presentation and record it using Camtasia.

Or, if you don't wish to use the add in, you can just launch the Camtasia recorder, then tell it to record as you play the PPT presentation.

Cheers... Rick :)

Have done this several times with shows given to me. It's simple to tweak timings later in Camtasia if need be.

Ok, Now that I have tried everything and know how to use the add-in, my major problem is with the notes I need to see in order to record my voice. Unfortunately, when I click on the slide show, I am not able to see my notes and it is very disappointing. I thought if I use the "presenter view", it is going to be a different story but the capture view at the end is a presenter view which is not sth I am looking for. plz help

You don't absolutely HAVE to use the Powerpoint add-in to capture a Powerpoint presentation. It's generally easier to do it that way, but there is another way; just use the standard Camtasia screen recorder. (This works best if you have a reasonably large screen monitor.)

Assuming that you only have one monitor, use Alt+F5 to launch the presentation in Presenter mode.
Launch the standard Camtasia screen recorder, set the size of the recording, and fit the recording window to the area where the presentation plays.
Record the presentation (including all animations) that way, and just use it as a standard .trec recording.
