How can I make the "track preview" larger?

I need to add some voice to a video that I made, and I need to see the content while I am speaking. The problem is that the playback of the video is lagging, so I cannot add my voice to the right time in the video. There is a really tiny preview of the video down on the track which would be enough for me to see what I need to say but it is so tiny that I cannot read it - this preview (not the one in the video window, but the little image down on the tracks) would allow me to time my voice better since it is not lagging, but i would need to make it larger to be able to see it - is this possible?

I don't believe that there is a way to make the timeline preview image any bigger. Your best bet is to record your voice as smoothly as you can, and then edit your audio track to better match your video. Good luck!

you can adjust the height of the track by dragging the top border mark on left side of the timeline

you can also zoom the timeline in to make the waveform more visible

yes, but this doesn't seem to enlarge the small image on  the tracks...

You are correct, the video preview thumbnail on the timelines won't grow or shrink with any UI adjustments.

this is what I thought you were looking for ...

the thumbnail is just a frame from the clip; when not playing, the image in canvas should be dead-on with the timeline position

Another option you have is to export your video, then record your audio while your exported video plays back. After that you can put your audio onto your timeline.

i was looking to enlarge the "thumbnail" (didn't know what it's called, thanks atownsend)...unfortunately the clip needs to be playing while I record my voice for it, so I will have to do what atownsend suggested and edit the track to match the video afterwards.
