How can I see more tracks on Camtasia 9? I work on a 17" laptop or a 24" monitor? What is the best screen resolution setting to view 6+ tracks? or is their something in the Camtasia set up ? Currently the max i can see is 3.

A 1920 x 1080 monitor screen resolution should allow you to see more than 3 media tracks.Probably 7 if you split the difference between the canvas are and the  timeline equally.

Thanks - thats probably it. Need to get a new monitor. Laptop is 1600x900 and the old monitor is 1680x1050.

With 8 you can just drag up the bar. You can also separate the display window from the tracks, can't you do that in 9?

basically, to see the most tracks, make the canvas size as small as possible

detaching the canvas may help a little?

vk, Don't run out and purchase a monitor.

Given the resolutions you've posted for your monitors.Either monitor can display more tracks than your screen shot depicts.

I'm pretty sure  that all you have is "Zoom" applied to your monitors. A level of either 125% or 150% .

Here's what I did. I changed the resolution of my monitor to 1600 x 900. The zoom level of the monitor was also set to 100%.

I set the timeline height so that 6 tracks of media could be seen.

I changed the zoom level of the monitor to 125%.

And last but not least 150%

I think the 125% zoom level represents what I see in your screen shot the best.

Regards,Joe

While I was at it I figured what the heck, Rinse and repeat the procedure.
Here's the results  when applied to at a resolution of 1680 x 1050.
100% zoom level

125%

150%

Wow that is great Joe, it works exactly as you said. There is absolutely nothing on the internet I could find with a solution like the above.
My zoom was set at 125% for my old eyes - at 100% I can see 6 tracks.
thanks a lot

Glad I could help. Here's another tip in case your unaware. In your screen shot, the top 3 tracks are taller than necessary in most cases.
It can be a lot easier to find small peaks in  audio wave forms with heightened tracks.
Other than that you get larger thumbnails on video tracks.

Anyway, you can adjust them individually by grabbing them and dragging .
Or grab the "Tiny Handle" above all tracks. To change them all at once.
See Image.

This post was so helpful. I figured out how to detach the canvas. Took me a few minutes to find the bar, but when I did a whole new world opened up for me. Thanks for all the posts.
I have only been using Camtasia for a week.
