How can I stop my text color from washing out as I reduce font size in SnagIt please?

Our GUIs are not that great. I suppose that because they look acceptable on a 28 inch screen, our developers think they will look acceptable when I smash em down to 250 - 400 pixels. I find to make them legible at all I have to cover over the text and add my own. Yes, making a popup dialog box 600 pixels wide would solve a lot of problems, but I can't really do that. Unfortunately, I am often forced to use really small fonts like Arial 10 or 11 point to keep the image to my size range for PDF output. It looks bad, but not as bad as if I did nothing. What is REALLY bad is that I often get sent screenshots in Word and they look great in Word but truly awful when I insert them into Flare and create PDFs from them. I really hate the thought of switching from Flare to Word, but I'm not really sure right now why I still have a job. I hate putting my name on some of this dreck.

Big problem is that as I add these text overlays, the black color gets more and more washed-out and grey at these point sizes. Can I prevent this please? Just bolding doesn't work at these sizes. Thank you very much.
