How can you flatten an image. I know that an image that is flattened can no longewr be changed, but what commnds cause this to happen?

I am unclear on what the term "Flatten means." I am referring to the verb. I understand that an image that is flattened can no longewr be changed, but wwhat commnds cause this to happen.

I'm not sure I follow your question?
When you flatten an image, you're combining all the editable elements and original image into one file.Reducing the file size.

To flatten an image you either right-click the image in the SnagIt editor and choose "Flatten All", or you can press Ctrl+Shift+T. 

Or, you simply save as an image format and the process of saving will automatically flatten in the process.

Also, in my experience, you can reverse a flatten command using undo and, this also applies where you have saved the image to a flattened format.  Of course, if the flatten command was succeeded by a series of other commands, such as adding more objects, you have to undo those too
