I'd like to square crop a video without guessing its size.

create a square template from a callout, sized to your needs; put the template in the Library so you can use as needed

when you need to do the crop, bring in the template, position, then crop to match the template

another way ...

start a Recorder capture over the Camtasia canvas; set capture to a square area [select capture area]; with the capture rectangle in view, position it, and crop the underlying media accordingly; after cropping, close Recorder

You need a 1x1 ratio square. I've been working on this for a bit.

Heres an Image you can use, just right click and download it.

Place this over your image, lower the opacity so you can see what your doing. Grab the corner handles to resize. Camtasia will maintain the aspect ratio of images. Just don't touch the Shift Key, that unlocks it.

Then Select the media below it and crop to it.

Regards,Joe

Thank you. I hoped for a more official version. Meanwhile I found my workaround, too.
