I was wondering how to clear the timeline, so I could make multiple projects, and not be stuck on one timeline.

I recommend you save the current project the way it is, then Save As with a new name if you plan to reuse parts of it or just click file new for a clean slate (empty timeline).

I have 150 clip projects to do so caving each named to open for rerendering or updates makes life easier. All the elements come back and all in place.

I'll still need to figure out what you said, in practice, but thank you; I'll work on figuring it out.

Oh...another way to clear the timeline is just to go under file in the left upperhand corner, an click, "new projects"?

As to saving clips used for a project, but intended to be used again, I don't get, but I think I understand things, a little better.

When I said "just click file new" that was really File, New (new project).

The purpose of saving project timelines is that when there is a specific narration or two, a music cue, 25 callout textboxes and other pieces to a project, you don't have to hunt them all down. You open the right project name and boom, it all loads into place for you. (I have repeat elements you might not ever have)

Hmm...I see.  How do I copy, or download movie clips?  I hear that you just do that by downloading the screen, but I'm not sure how do do that.  Do I just take scene fro ma dvd, and press "record"?
