How do I determine if more RAM would help Camtasia 9?

I've got Camtasia 9 and it's working much much better than 8. No crashes so far, rendering is faster.

One problem with 8, however, was that during editing/playback it never showed my cuts and transitions properly. 8 would jump and freeze and it was only after rendering that I saw how things really looked.

C9 is much better but not perfect. I've got 16GB of RAM. Would more help? How would I figure that out?

If on Windoze, open up Task Manager (taskmgr.exe) and watch your memory utilization while rendering on Camtasia 9.  I see that memory use on the rendering the same .trec with minor edits is smaller on Camtasia 9 than Camtasia Studio 8.6. Even on an 8GB system, if I start with ~4GB in use, the memory used never goes higher than 6GB just running Camtasia 9.  I suspect you will find that unless you are running other things totalling more than 14GB memory used, more memory would do you little good for Camtasia 9.

Thanks for the tip. I'm rendering now and my CPU is between 80% and 96%.
Memory is holding steady at 53%

You can have all the memory in the world, it is not going to help you out that much, unless you have a strong powerful CPU to make that memory worth while.
Get you a HIGHER CPU, i7, with 8 cores or more, then work on your memory.

I'm thinking about stepping up from i5 to i7 but right now, Camtasia 9 is working beautifully.

Yeah, I am getting ready to go up to an i7 as well.
I found one of eBay for $65.00.
Thinking about getting it next week.

What computer do you have?
More importantly, what is the Chipset?
Mine is: HM65
