I have a set of colors I use all the time and saved them in My Colors. But, I can't use those colors anymore and have a new set of colors to use. I can add my new colors, but how can I get rid of the ones I don't want to be saved anymore?

Hi there

I see you posted in the Mac area. I'm not sure if the same holds true for Mac, but on the PC, you just right-click the color you want to delete and an option appears. I'm not sure if Mac offers a right-click function.

Cheers... Rick :)

Oh dear God...please someone help Jessica (and me, by extension) out!  I can't believe it isn't possible to scratch out those default colors!

Right Click if you have two button mouse or Control-Click if one button Mouse or Trackpad. Or you  you can go to Track Pad preference, and set  two finger click as secondary click.

And use Right click brings up delete.

It depends what version of Camtasia for MAC you are using.  If you are still using Camtasia 2 you change the colors in the General section of the Preferences Panel.  In that panel, you click one of the 8 available colors and change it to whatever you want using the system color picker.

If you are using Camtasia 3, then it may be broken. I just tried it in 3.1.2 and you can no longer right click (or control-click) to get the delete option. It picks the color instead and closes the color picker.  Yuck.

So to delete ALL of the colors, you can close Camtasia 3, then paste the following entire line into terminal and press enter

defaults delete ~/Library/Preferences/com.techsmith.camtasia3 TSC_COLOR_PICKER_PREFERENCES_DICT

Make sure you want to do this because this command will delete ALL of your saved colors.
Afterwards, you can open Camtasia again and add in just the colors you want.

Thank you for brining this to our attention.  We'll have to get this delete issue fixed for the next release.

It's definitely broken then. I have 3.1.2. I'll try this. Thank you. Looking forward to the fix!

I would suggest that this "Bug" be fixed A.S.A.P.  There are some colors I have saved by accident, I would like to remove.

This didn't work for me, all I get is an error message.

Edit:  Had to remove ~/Library/Preferences/ for it to work
