How do you remove the Getting Started Information Bubble in the title bar?

I'm in the process of trying to install SnagIt 2018 in XenApp (Citrix). Considering this is a multiuser environment, I'm trying to simplify things and remove unneeded features. I'm wondering how you can remove the "Getting Started" information bubble in title bar of SnagIt Editor. It's the little bubble with an "i" in it next to the min/max/close buttons. I assume there is some registry key that can be changed to remove it, but I'm not able to determine which one it is. I figured out which registry key removes the Sign In button from the title bar though, so I am assuming there is a way to remove the info bubble as well.

Is this what you are referring to?

Assuming it is, I'm not sure a setting exists to turn it off. You don't see the tabs for Getting Started and What's New until you click the icon though.

I'm not sure installing SnagIt in this situation is within the licensing agreement as it will then be available for a myriad of users, no? And assuming that it IS installed this way, legal issues aside, I'm wondering why you would want to remove that option. Wouldn't folks need to have access to that information?

Cheers... Rick :)

I understand that it's not really a big deal and it doesn't get in the way. I'm sort of just asking out of curiosity. I've been fiddling with a lot of the settings to get other things working properly and to try to secure the installation. I was changing one thing after another and got to this i bubble thing and couldn't figure it out. Also, I wasn't just speaking of the Getting Started tab, but the whole i bubble all together.

I wanted to hide it because I don't see the purpose of having this bubble other than to promote new features and give users a checklist. If a user needs help, they could just click on Help > "Learn What's New in SnagIt" or "Online Tutorials", no?

As far as licensing, that is handled and worked out by our Asset Procurement and Management team. Not something I'm involved in, but they do work closely with all the companies we purchase software from.

Yeah, I'm thinking that bubble is hard coded into the application. Perhaps one of the SnagIt team folks will pop in to confirm my suspicions or tell you about some obscure setting to cause it to vanish. ;)

Hi All;

I just wanted to pop in here to let everyone know that, unfortunately, it's not possible to turn that off. As such I will be changing this from a Question to an Idea so others can vote on the topic.

Feel free to reach out to me if you've any questions.
