I am not sure excactly what "remove noise" does but on my Windows 7 laptop running Camtasia Studio 7, there has been a dialog box showing "applying" for over two hours for a 23-minute video. That seems like it can't be right as it is taking far too long. How long should this take? Thanks.

Yes, I know Cam7 is old. I have a license key for Camtasia 9 but I only have a 32-bit mahcine. So the key is useless.

Noise Removal is mostly used to remove background noise.

There is no standard time. It primarily depends on the length and complexity of the recording.
If I were to guess,  I would say Camtasia just hung. Two hours is way to long for noise removal.

First off it's best to do your recordings in a quiet place to minimize any noise.
Also I use Audacity (it's free) for all my audio editing. Camtasia is ah so..so in that area.

One last thing.
You can download Camtasia 8.6 and use your Camtasia 9 key to activate it.
I use both Camtasia 8.6 and 9 as each has their pros and cons

You can download 8.6 here
