How to automatically create and name markers from file names?

Is there a quick/simple way to automatically add markers at the beginning of each clip on the timeline and to name those markers with the same filename from the clip? I am very careful when naming my individual clips. These filenames would be ideal as the Marker name. I would love to simply add, let's say 10, videos from the media library to the timeline and then have Camtasia automatically place a marker at the beginning of each clip and name that marker using the file name from that clip. Am I dreaming? :-)

yes; you're dreaming; not possible

IMHO, Camtasia needs a scripting capability [internal macro tool] that would enable a user to set this behavior up; but no such tool exists within Camtasia [although I've been asking for one since CS6]

it would help of it were possible to select a clip in bin, and grab/copy its name; that too is not possible

a while back, I tried using a 3rd party macro tool with Camtasia, but it did not work out

my current solution for stuff like this is to copy file name from a Explorer window, and paste into Camtasia where appropriate

Kayakman - Thanks for your reply. At least I will stop "dreaming" and will do the Copy/Paste method.
