How to capture region on a full screen on a Mac

I'm on a Mac. I've opened a browser and clicked the little green icon in the upper left. My browser takes over the entire screen. I switch to a screen with Snagit 2019 by Techsmith open in a window. How do I capture a region on that full screen that I have open?

If you assign a hotkey to the region capture preset, then you can access it from anywhere without switching screens. Alternatively, I was able to get to the snagit capture window without switching spaces by just moving my mouse to the top of the screen where the snagit capture helper is, so that should work as well.
