How to change Webcam Aspect Ratio?

I have a HD (16x9) camera rigged up to Camatasia 2018 but I noticed that Camtasia is squeezing the output from my camera into what looks like a 4x3 aspect ratio so I look weird and there are two black bars down the side of the picture.

I can't seem to find anywhere to specify the dimensions/aspect ratio of the 'Recorded Inputs'.

I'm able to adjust my screencast dimensions but not the dimensions of the camera that is recording me during the screencast recording.

Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance
Gavin

What do you mean "Rigged up to?".  Are you trying to use the camera as a webcam?

Yes, the camera simply replaces my crappy webcam. I have it connected to the computer via a livestream capture device which is working. The only issue is the aspect ration. If I record in OBS there is not aspect ratio squeeze. It records at 16x9

This image was created for format settings.

However, it shows you how to get the other tab. "Device Properties"
You should be able to change the aspect ratio under it.

I am having this same issue now as well. I am using a HD camera (16x9) to bring in video. It always sees the video as 640*360

I do all as above, I change the aspect ratio to 16*9, at 1920*1080... but when I click "Apply/OK" it goes back to 640*360

Same here for my video capture device unless I set frame rate to 30 after setting screen size to 1920 x 1080 AND before exiting this popup. Also, Camtasia reverts back to 640x360 if I turn the camera off and on again!  Ouch! I don't recall that behavior when using my Logitech c910 before.

BTW If I set it ONCE and don't turn it off for the whole capture, the recording in a separate track is just what I want! (HD) res with the screen capture at full res too.

PS. Capture device is a HD video camera feeding a Magwell USB Capture HDMI Gen 1 into USB 3
