Hello, I am trying to make a design wherein the picture is on top of a video but I want the video to fit in the picture only in certain parts of it, rather than showing its black borders in full. How do i do this in camtasia? Note: The picture file is in .png and I already cleared out the inside of the hexagon  in photoshop

Add your video to perhaps track 1 on the timeline. Then add the picture you share with us on track 2. Assuming the hexagon is transparent, the video should appear inside the hexagon.

Note that you will likely need to scale the video much smaller so it appears more neatly within the hexagon.

Cheers... Rick :)

Rick's suggestion is a great way to accomplish this task. There are other ways using other software that may or may not make this task easier but those can cost more. So I just use Camtasia if I need to complete a task like this for myself or a client.

As Rick stated you will likely need to scale the video much smaller to fit in your shape so you may also want to keep in mind that the video may be harder to see being reduced in viewing size/scale. So if there is something important in that shape you might want to make sure it is large enough to be viewable for your users to see.

kayakman also had a video for creating a Mask in a Circle. Not sure if this would work with another shape but it is still worth looking at and giving it a try. Might be an older version but should still work the same. The link for that is below:

Just my suggestion. Thanks for posting and let us know if this works for you or not.

If the hexagon is not transparent in the image, the simplest way to accomplish this is to fill it with a color that isn’t elsewhere in the image (hot pink or bright green might work) and then use Remove a Color to remove the color you used to fill in the hexagon. Then just put the image in front of your video and scale both until it looks how you want.
