This is easy using the color substitution option - if the signature is really only black.
Here's how:
  1. Open your image in the Editor.
  2. From the Image  tab, choose Color Effects Color Substitution.
    You will now see this:

  3. Choose Add. Use the Old Color eye dropper to click on the black in your signature image on the canvas.
  4.  Click on the New Color swatch (it's white the first time you use it) to display the color palette. Chose the desire color to change to. The color will immediately be changed:
  5. Click OK to exit.
Later, when you want to add other colors, use the Delete button to remove the current settings from the dialog box so you can start over.

There is a very different process you will need to go through if your image is not totally black, but is a gradient. And, usually signatures with gradients do not come out to well when making them one solid color.

I hope this helps!

I'm using a Macbook, and I don't see these options in my version of Snagit.
