Hi Rob,

I'm not positive what version you are on, but below I will show you how to set capture hot keys in Snagit 12. This method will allow you to reset the Global Capture to the Print Screen key. If you are using another version, please let me know.
  1. In the Capture Window click the preferences gear > Preferences

  2. Choose the Hotkeys tab and then use the options in the top, Global capture, menu to select the key or sequence of keys you'd like to use to start a capture. You can set the Print Sceen key in the drop down. Also, note you do not have to check the the Ctrl, Shift, or Alt options.
I hope this helps, and please let me know if you need anything else!

Hello, I have tried this but after my upgrade to Windows 10, the Hot Key combination (Print Screen (only) doesn't work. Other combinations DO work however. I prefer the standard Print Screen, however Windows 10 has usurped the key command away from Snag It. Print key works for Windows 10 capture purposes but I want Snag It back. Please advise, thanks.

I ran into the same thing and instead of trying to pry the print screen button away from Windows 10, I decided to assign Ctrl + Printscreen as the hotkey that will take the image and output it directly to the clipboard without opening the editor (as part of a custom profile)

If I want to use the editor, I would just use the Printscreen button by itself (as part of the image profile)
