How to recover .trec files that are deleted and I clicked empty trash.

1. Background

I know that two types of files(.trec, .tscproj) are made when I record computer screen by using camtasia 2018 program.

But I didn't know that a file(.trec) is necessary to run a file(.tscproj).

So I deleted many files(.trec) and then I clicked empty trash.

2. My current status
In order to recover the files, I purchased license of a program called "recovery my files".

As a result, I found many files(.trec) but there is a problem.

The problem is that file name is changed as strange name, such as "$IKRC525.trec".

Generally, my deleted file's name shows recording date and time, such as "REC 08 01 15.trec".

Furthermore, I recovered the files of strange name but they didn't play.

3. My Question
Can you tell me how to recover my files?

Deleted files are very important to write my thesis.

Please help me.

I can make a few suggestions. But I've never been in your position. So I'm only guessing here.

The file name shouldn't matter. But you could try renaming them to a simpler name. Like numerically. Just number them 1 through whatever. Name one of them 1. If it opens . Name them all in sequence.

You can place one in the media bin of Camtasia. Right click it and select "Extract Recording Contents". You may be able to extract the recordings to a folder and import them into Camtasia that way. You will lose the ability to add cursor effects if you do this. That's the biggest drawback of this technique.

Aside from that? There's tech support. They know more about this type of thing than I. See If they can help you.

Thank you for your kindness and your good suggestions.

About 1st your suggestion: ro rename files.

--> I was able to solve my problem although I rename my files that are called strange name.

About 2nd your suggestion: to click "extract recording contents"

--> I was able to solve my problem because there wasn't "extract recording contents" when I click right my file in media bin. You can see my situation via below picture.

About  3rd your suggestion: to submit a ticket.

--> I sent a ticket after reading your comment. I didn't know about the free service. Thank you so much.

So, open a new project. Import one of the files. Don't place it on the timeline.
Try to extract the contents.
Does that change anything?
