I want to use the transition ripple on a video clip
and each time I do, it usually starts to fade,
I just want it to ripple without the fade.
I'm using camtasia 9.1

Are you referring to Black edges?

The Ripple transition is a combination of 2 effects.
It's a Cross Fade Transition between the two pieces of media. And the Ripple effect is the second effect.
If your working with media with a lot of white in it.
As the ripple effect kicks in the image collapses and edges pull inward.
That's the canvas default Background color. You could change it to any color you want using the color picker.

Unfortunately, the  background will be the same throughout  the entire project. So that trick only works for similar colored media. And it won't be perfect.

If the entire image is fading. Try Right clicking transition and Un-Checking Use Trimmed Media in Transition.

Right click it with your cursor directly over it. It should turn yellow and the window should appear.

I just opened Camtasia to confirm it .This is an updated posting.

If it's at the end of your video, you could apply an extend frame to the video.
What's happening is it's trying to cross fade to media that doesn't exist. So it's cross fading to the black canvas background. Giving the appearance of fading to black.Which, is exactly what it is doing.
With the last frame extended it will cross fade into itself and won't fade.

You'll need to position the Green and Red timeline sliders at the beginning and center of the transition at the end. Right click and select "Produce Timeline Selection as" to complete project.

If it's in the middle of a project I would render it to avi as a high quality video.avi's re-render better than mp'4s
Then replace it with what's currently on the time line.
