While it is selected, does not CONTROL + C copy it for immediate pasting? (CONTROL + V)
Am I understanding the question ,,, is that what you are trying to do?

The ctrl-c/v isn't the problem, an ellipse in an angle is. AFAIK one can only create vertical or horizontal ellipses, but one in a -say- 40 degr angle... I might be overlooking a feature. The 'anchors' are to resize only.
The above is just to illustrate what I meant, but I believe not yet possible in SnagItEditor.

Check this video. You have to hover to get the move cross and look for a green handle at the top. Gram that and you can rotate. See the video here as my 475 KB file seems to be considered over 2 MB and chokes the forum software (yeah read that again)

Ah!! Right!!
THANK you indeed.
Truly appreciated.

I wasn't aware of it. Did not grab the selection so it would become visible.
Tried with the square black 'blocks' that are serving to resize only.

Thank you again, also for taking the time to create a video clip.

(sorry for the small screenshot below, the forum software seems to resize it to maybe 25% of the original size)
