How to start recording or open CS8?

Hello, I am new to CS8. After installation, I have started both Camtasia Recorder 8 and Camtasia Studio 8. But none of the two programs appear on the screen, or on the taskbar, or in the tray area, although both are visible in Windows Task Manager. Also the Camtasia Getting Started Guide does not describe this situation. Obviously I am missing something here...?

OS: Windos 7 x64 SP1



After that I tried to make a Snagit screenshot, which failed with this error box:



So I retried again and this time the Snagit screenshot did work. So is there any incompatibility between Snagit and Camtasia Studio?

Strange: After having terminated the CamRecorder.exe process in Task Manager, the CS8 windows finally showed up and the introduction window started to play. So is this a bug?

That's very strange. I've not seen that behavior before. Somehow your system was in a bad state, as indicated by the fact you were unable to save a screenshot. Perhaps you are running low on disk space? That's a guess.
