Add an option to switch off the gray glow border around an image on the Snagit 13 canvas

In Snagit 13, why is there a GRAY GLOW around the image? How can I switch it off?

I the editor, I want to see just a clean and neat image with the handles, no fancy glow around the image.

With text selected, on the RHS, Tool Properties, there is a slider value named: "Line Width". Set it to zero.
Yes, I agree, why would this be the default setting. I think I would never use that...

This is a misunderstanding. I mean the glow border around the IMAGE, not around the text:

Ohhh, <groan>, another item I can't work out in V13. Sorry.
Are you sure it's not a shadow or something like that? Do you have shadow set? (Although on further checking, shadow is only available  for either on or two directions only, not all around)

I have the same issue if I change the editor background to any color that isn't black.
I prefer a black background so it doesn't bother me but it's a bug. SnagIt 12 does not have this issue.

Regards, Joe

Black background hurts my eyes, it is too much contrast.
Anyway, it should be possible to see a clean image with no glow border.

Hi all - just to clarify, the glow around an image on the canvas is not part of the image when you save or share it...it is just there to help show where the canvas ends and the editor background begins. That said, I changed this from a question to an idea so that others who might want an option for this can share their thoughts and upvote.

That the glow around an image on the canvas is not part of the image is obvious.
That is not the problem.
The problem is that it looks ugly and distracts from the image content.
Please add an option to hide this glow.

If the user needs a border around the image (in the case where the background has the same color as the image content in the border area), there should be an (optional!) dotted line. A dotted line is the best visual method to distinguish areas with similar colors. (Because a solid line could have the same color as one of the colored areas). Try it out!

PS: As every programmer knows, there are different methods to draw lines on a canvas. One of these methods merges the colors of the line and the canvas in a way that the line is always visible independently of the canvas color and the line color. This could be an even better option.
