I need to uninstall my Snagit2019. The reason being is I cannot seem to get rid of the Snagit needs password window. I have gone through everything on my Systems preferences, and also tried shutting down the software itself but to no avail.
Want to uninstall then reinstall to see if that will work.

Take a look at this support article:
https://support.techsmith.com/hc/en-us/articles/203732388-Snagit-Mac-Uninstall-Snagit-for-Mac

FYI, If you sign in to Snagit, it stores information about that access in the keychain. If you have a software key you manually enter, you do not have to sign in to Snagit to use it.

I have uninstalled it, then reinstalled the software to try and rectify the issue but the problem has come back even worse. I cannot even use the app anymore, all I have every time I go to open the Snagit window to try and access the preferences is the whirling wheel of death, it is absolutely useless to me now. To make matters worse I cannot even get rid of the window prompting me for a password, am going to uninstall it for good. Shame cos I was really getting the knack of it and i never had this problem with the previous version.

Hi,

Unfortunately a reinstall won't resolve this issue. If you take a look at my official reply near the bottom of this thread, it has some steps to reduce the number of dialogs you're seeing.

Hi,

We just released a 2019.1.3 update that should greatly reduce the frequency of these dialogs. You may still see 1 or 2, but if you enter your password and choose "Always Allow", then they shouldn't come back at all.
