How to update Camtasia Mac using new software key

I just renewed my Camtasia for Mac annual subscription for combo (win/macOS) and on the Mac at least, my old Camtasia 3 software key (license) is still showing in the About box. Does anyone know how to reset the software key so that I get automatic software updates throughout the years? The Activate menu item shows the sold key and it isn't obvious how to replace it. I will probably face the same thing on Windows but I haven't tried it yet.

Camtasia 3 is the latest version of Camtasia, so if you have a key there, it is a version 3 key (9 on windows), and there isn't anything newer that you could put in there.

Just to add a little to Paul's reply, when we release a new major version you will be emailed a key for the new version. If we're able to tie your maintenance agreement to your TechSmith Account, your software keys will also show up at https://myaccount.techsmith.com/MyProducts/Software

So even with a new key, it isn't shown in the About box? Funny, there is no way that I've found to even enter in the new key - you all must keep the original key somewhere (and it isn't under the Applications Support/TechWell/ folder). What is confusing in the annual maintenance plan is that you are entitled to updates throughout the year and I would assume the new key would be used to enable the update.

Hi Ken,

If you buy version 3.0 of the software, your key is valid for all of version three: 3.1, 3.2, etc.
A version 3.x key would not work with version 4.x. When Camtasia 4 is released, users with active maintenance will receive a key that will work with version 4.

Here's a page that explains in greater detail

OK! I guess that assumes that with a maintenance plan that within a year period there will (or should) be a major upgrade and not just maintenance updates. Thanks, Glenn.
