Hey Cathy,

Your best bet is to fire up version 7, and save your snag out as an image file of some sort. Than you can open it in version 11.

Sorry that isn't an ideal solution, but I hope it helps!

This option doesn't give me a vector-based image to markup.

Is that the only answer? A file type you supported you have dropped with no way to convert or open the files?

I managed to find this link to old version of SnagIt: http://www.techsmith.com/download/oldversions.asp and was able to download and install version 7.2.5 and it said my Trial version had already expired. It was enough for me to open my old .SSD files, but it won't let me save the files. My 7.x version I had years ago, a house move and several laptops later I don't have any registration details for my original 7.x version. My fully licensed 12.2.2 version will not open the SSD files and there appears to be no import option on 12.x.

So how can I get to open the SSD files in 12.x in an editable format?

Hi Trefor,

Just to answer your basic question: The most you can do in this situation is open the files in Snagit Studio then copy / paste the text into new callouts in Snagit 12.

There is no conversion option that will allow you to open those files and maintain the vector functionality.

Sorry about that!
