How can I specify which Google Account for Snagit for Chrome to use?

When I did my first SnagIT, it connected with my work Google account. I have now decided I would prefer that Snagit be linked to my personal Google Account's Drive. How do I change this? I'm assuming this doesn't yet support dynamic switching. But, even uninstalling and reinstalling didn't break the connection between SnagIT and my work Google account.

Hi Eric,

Good question! How do you sign in to your Google account? Do you just sign in on the current tab, did you sign in to the browser, or do you have separate accounts linked up to your Chrome browser? Keeping track of accounts can be a bit tricky in Chrome, but you can definitely have Snagit for Google Chrome installed on either/both your personal and work account.

Let me know how you're signing in, and we can go through the proper workflow for how to make this work.

When I first use the extension, it asked me for permissions for my Google account. I was already signed into my work Google account. So, it just used that one and has setup the TechSmith folder in my work Drive account. So, I didn't really sign-in to my google account for Snagit. It just use the account I was already logged into. Hopefully that is what you needed.

I'm wondering if Snagit just uses the account Chrome is logged in with. That's the way Google Keep works in their packaged app.

I would like to work with you to help you get this issue resolved.  Would you mind submitting a support ticket so we can work through the issue there?  You can submit a support ticket here: https://support.techsmith.com   Thanks!

I would love to know if/when there is a resolution for this as I too have multiple google accounts - 1 through the google apps which I use for work and 1 through my personal google account. Currently I am signed up for the beta through my personal google account but would love to be able to switch back and forth if this ever becomes available.

It seems Snagit is automatically tied to whatever Google account your Chrome browser is synced to.

Hi,

That's correct, at present, the Snagit for Google Chrome extension simply uses the credentials from your browser to log in, and those credentials are passed along to the app as well.
