How do I change the size of the Snagit after I post it into Outlook (email)?

I know how to change the size of the canvas in the Snagit editor itself. But when using the Windows version, I could copy and paste the canvas into Outlook (or other email program) and THEN still change the size by grabbing a corner. The aspect ratio was also maintained. This helped reduce the size of the image to the viewers and also helped in formatting if I had written text above or below the pasted canvas. On my Mac, however, once I copy and paste the Snagit into Outlook, there is no way for me to change the size of the pasted canvas. It pastes VERY large and I want to be able to reduce it while maintaining the aspect ratio.

Hi Rusty,

When you're resizing images in Outlook, that's actually a feature of Outlook and not Snagit. Unfortunately, Outlook:Mac isn't as fully-featured as it's Windows counterpart, and I've run into the same trouble myself.

What I typically do, is scale down the size of the image in Snagit on Mac before I paste it into Outlook. You can do this in the Snagit Editor if you look under the Edit menu there's an option for Resize Image and you can just scale the image down by a percentage, I usually do 30 percent.

I hope this helps!

Perfect! Thank you! I tried it and that is exactly what I needed.

I love my Mac and I love Outlook (better than Mail), but they need to keep on improving Outlook for Mac...

Glad I could help Rusty.

I don't do it myself, but some people around the office here just hook their Mac up to our Exchange server and use Mac Mail, the Mac Calendar and Mac Contacts. They seem to like it.

Something to consider,
Glenn
