Trying to find Post It Callout

I just upgraded from Snagit V11 to Snagit V12. I want to edit the text in the Post It callout in documentation that I created using V11.  When I open the image in the SnagIt Library, I am unable to edit the text in the V11 Post It callout.  Is there a way to do this? Do I have to delete the V11 callout and create a new callout in V12?  Thanks.

Hi there

Have you tried double-clicking it?

There are two "modes". One is the mode where you select it to move its position. The other is where you edit the text. I believe you have to double-click it to enter the edit text mode.

Hi Rick - Yes I am quite adept at double clicking :-). I was able exit the SnagIt 12 editor and open the Snagit 11 editor and add a new "post it" callout, since it seems to be have been removed in SnagIt 12.

Hi Greg

I offer my sincere apologies if you felt I was speaking down to you on the double-click. We see all levels of folks here. ;)

Although I've been trying my best to use (and like) the new "dark horse" since it was released, I hadn't picked up on the fact that it actually had dropped the "post it note" callout!

That's a pretty big bummer for folks that used that one. I used it all the time myself. Fortunately I had saved a Quick Style so it was still there for me. So maybe that's the difference. If you didn't save it as a Quick Style, it is now somewhat of a foreign object. But only TechSmith can say for certain.

Cheers... Rick :)

No worries!  I appreciate your response to my question and you gave me another reason to use quickstyles. Thanks.

Hello Greg,
I think you will like this. The following image is SnagIt 12  "The Dark Horse " ( Good One RICK )
with a lot of call outs installed including Post its.

These were installed by running this installer from Techsmith.
Click the link from this web page.

https://support.techsmith.com/entries/22825891-Snagit-Callouts-and-Arrows-in-version-10-missing-in-v...

I still have version 11 installed. I just ran this "This Morning" and wanted to see if it would install in the SnagIt 12 trial version. I opened the editor and ALL the callouts were already installed.
So I don't know if it just installed the callouts from Snagit 11, because I ran it before I installed SnagIt 12. Or what exactly transpired. But they are in there just the same. I know you said you used SnagIt 11 this morning. So I'm assuming there will be some transference into 12 if nothing else. Yeah I know "ASSume" But a picture is worth a thousand words.

I just tested it and it is editable.

Regards, Joe

Hi Joe - Thanks!  I saw that but I didn't try it since it said V10 to V11. I just ran it and I have a post-it callout now.  Greg

Glad you got this sorted out - thanks crew :) I didn't know that this callout was removed - I'm not sure I ever used it before!
