How do I get Camtasia to use the space on a hard disk other than the primary C drive? I don't have a lot of space on there and I want to it to use the open space on my E drive (300+GB open space). I went to the tools tab>options and changed my temp folder for the E drive but I don't know if that's for caching streaming data. Any assistance with this?

Are you referring to the location of your temp files for your "Recording"? Because the Recorder has it's own temp folder and the setting are accessible through the recording toolbar " Tools" menu. Camtasia editor uses it's own folder.

That's the directory that I changed but Camtasia refuses to use that directory I specify.

Nathan,

Please note that there's a temporary folder in Recorder (shown above), and a separate temporary folder in the Editor.  Both are found in the Tools > Options... dialog, but one is in Recorder (for recordings) and the other in the Editor (for production).  Remember that the temporary folder needs to be set to a location with fast I/O, as it's used heavily during recording and production.  So it would be unwise, for example, to use a network path here.

Hope this helps.

Has this been resolved? I have the same problem. Camtasia is using up all available space and won't finish Rendering. It hangs at 100% without producing a project and keeps eating leftover hard disk space in this state. It's currently at 400 GB's and the project is still rendering. I'm using my main/C drive for everything (temp folders) - this is a very fast computer with a very large hard drive. I've tried on another computer - same behavior.

Btw I've already installed the memory patch from Camtasia for Camtasia 7 which I'm using,
and aren't aware of any other patch available for this problem.
