I've been trying to record snag it with powerpoint and I can get everything to work except I can't scroll through the slides while recording. Does anybody have any suggestions?

I have read that I need a snag it add in for powerpoint, but I can't seem to get that to work either.

Please help!

Hi Dan,

I think you might be thinking of Camtasia Studio. Snagit has an output to PowerPoint (meaning you can send images directly from Snagit to PowerPoint) in the Share tab.

However, you can still certainly record a PPT with Snagit. There are two main ways people do it.

1. Launch PowerPoint in presentation mode, then initiate the Snagit video capture using a hotkey. The hotkey will launch the cross hairs without kicking you out of the presentation mode.

2. I prefer this method, as long as I don't have animations or video in the PPT. I leave the presentation in the normal mode and size the canvas area to the dimensions I want. I then just record that area. (I think it's rare that people need the video to be the full size of my monitor.) I then have the bonus of being able to see my notes right below the slides, out of the recording area.

Here's a demo of exactly what I mean:

Hope this is helpful!
