Renaming capture in Snagit Editor and prompting to Add Tags

I'm trying to figure out how to rename captures in the editor library.  When I create a capture it goes into the library with a timestamp as the name of the capture.  Is there a way to change that?

Hey there,

You can go to save as and name the file something else that way. Or where you wanting to change the default name away from the time stamp to something else?

Hi Logan;

  1. I would like to be able to give a new name to the capture in the Library.  That way when I sort by name I'll be able to find what I'm looking for, and the name will be much more meaningful when I'm browsing (see image).  I do notice that if I export the capture to another location (Save As) it gives a new name to the capture in the Library.  But I don't want to have to go through saving the image to the drive and then going there and deleting it... I don't want another image cluttering up my drive, I just want to name the capture.
  2. Yes, it would be great to be able to change the default name to something more meaningful.  I think even having the option to prompt for capture name & tags when the capture is first taken would be great.  Much, much more helpful than just the timestamp and having to go back through gobs of captures from two months ago to find the one I'm looking for.

This is an interesting idea, Norm! I think that would make that library more useful for me, too. I've changed the status to idea and retitled so that hopefully more people will find it and add their thoughts. Thank you!
