How does everyone deal with Camtasia's quality?

I typically use the the MP4 720p option when I publish my files because of the small file size. However, the quality isn't the best. Our company color is orange and the orange never comes out to be the right color (it has a green tinge to it). Whenever I need to produce a higher quality file, I use the custom settings and output as AVI using the Microsoft code (the Logictech one is good too). My project looks beautiful, but the file sizes are enormous! What do you all do about quality and file size?

Hi Jessica.

I'll let others (hopefully) add their production settings as well, but I did want to point out one thing that can improve color accuracy. In the Video Settings tab, try changing the H.264 profile to High.

What you see above are the settings I use for making TechSmith tutorials. Our tutorial dimensions are 854x480, to keep file size down and make sure people can comfortably view them on mobile devices as well. Because we produce at this smaller size, we zoom in quite often to maintain readability, but still display the whole screen when we need to show context.

Hope this helps!

Thanks, Josh! I will definitely try that. I'll play with dimensions as well.
