I have some meetings coming up soon (which I would like to record using Camtasia) and I know that you can install it on two PC's using a single license (not using them at the same time), but what I am wondering is, if I uninstalled the two installed to install on two different PC's using the same username and serial key would this work? Or is the license just limited to two PC's and that's it, regardless of whether or not I uninstall them?

Thanks

Hi Tony!

As long as you uninstall from the two machines you have it installed on currently before you install on the other two machines you will still be within the terms of your license, so you should be fine! You can have the one license installed on up to two computers at any time.

Hope this helps!

Is it still correct that the same license can be used for up to two PCs?

Thank you.

Is it a perpetual licence or , we have to renew every year.

@Stannscollege Hyd It is a perpetual licence. Techsmith briefly sold a subscription (monthly payment) model through Steam but that ended over a year ago. All licences are perpetual at the moment.

You only need to pay again if there is a full version upgrade (eg Camtasia 9.x to 10.x), but that's optional. You can keep using 9.x even after 10.x is released.

If I bought a license on a previous version do I have to download that version and if so where do I find older versions to add my license for another windows computer?

You should install the most recent version of the major version you own a key for.

Meaning if you own Camtasia 9, you should install the newest version of Camtasia 9.As it should contain the most bug fixes and features.

You can download and install a new or an older version from this link.

TechSmith does offer a service to look up your info.

But my own experience with Camtasia has been extremely positive. Just signing in seems to kick off a series of events where it does its best to find the key and populate the fields for you. Very slick.

Cheers... Rick :)
