Hi Rick,

There's currently no way to do this directly.

One workaround is to choose Edit > Rotate Image... (⌘+R), then input 90.

Does that help?

Conan.

Good tip, thanks. The problem is that printing landscape is absolutely expected. So when it's not obviously present, some (like me) are inclined to diligently attempt to figure out how to do it, wasting time. This is especially tough given that around 70% of what I want to print, I want to print landscape.

In summary: Tip - good. No landscape printing - bad. No indication to the user that this "standard" feature is not supported - really, really bad.

Otherwise great product!

Actually there is a way to do it (at least in version 3.2.2).

File-->Page Setup. The "Orientation" option lets you choose Landscape.

But note that your selection will not be persistent. If you want to print multiple captures in a row, you'll need to change this setting for each image. :-/

There needs to be a way to choose landscape/portrait from the Print dialog. And a way to choose the "optimal" way to print, based on the aspect ratio of the image (automatically choose landscape when appropriate).  And (while I'm writing),

• there needs to be a way to indicate that the image should fill the printed page.
• it would be so helpful to have a way to print the date and filename on the page, too.
• The HyperSnap app on Windows does many useful things that are missing in Snagit/Mac, including these.
