How the "Heck" do you adjust the height of individual tracks in Camtasia 8?

For the life of me - and, I am really frustrated with this - do you adjust the height of the tracks that are added automatically in Camtasia Studio Version 8?

I worked with one of your Tech Support Pros - Jim - today to work out the different procedures for adding Call Outs in Version 8 (I have been using Camtasia since version 5, so I am not a novice here!)

However - and this is a "big however" - I cannot figure out the logic that Camtasia uses for "automatically assigning" a Call Out to a particular Track. I could live with your logic for this. However - and this is my frustration - I cannot find a way to locate and enlarge the additional tracks on the timeline!!!

It is all well and good to add "unlimited" tracks to the timeline. However, if I cannot find these "infinite number" of timelines and adjust their individual size - who the heck cares about this feature?

Also - and this is my personal observation - Why - Oh Why - did you "trash Version 7" in your announcement of the "New and Improved" Version 8 of Camtasia Studio?

Frankly - you over-hyped the new and "jazzy" features - and ... you really dropped the ball when it came to helping veteran users - myself included - of the so-called "legacy" versions of Camtasia.

Less "hype!" More "hand-holding!" for the "veteran users" of Camtasia!

Hello Danny. I have uploaded an image here that might help explain how to adjust the track(s) height if this is what you are referring to. If not let us know.

Thanks for posting and I could agree with you on a few of those things. Have a great day.

Thanks Fred -

However - in my situation, this :slider: only adjusts the Main Video Track and what I have renamed the Call Out Track.
My Frustration is - when I add an additional Call Out, it gets "arbitrarily added to another track" and... I cannot seem to find a way to adjust the height of that "arbitrarily added" track so that I can edit it / move it, etc.

This has become - for me - the Game Changer - I need to revert to the "much maligned" - by Camtasia Version 7 - where, at least, I can get my work done! So much for these so-called "exhaulted" improvements!

Fred - Thanks for your suggestion.

However, as I have previously stated, I cannot - for the life of me - find a way to adjust the height of these extra "added - arbitrarily" tracks - for simple call outs. This is driving me "crazy" - And... it is driving me "away" from my previously very satisfied status as a proponent of Camtasia Studio - since version 5.0!

The slider adjusts the height of all the tracks at once. You can adjust the height of individual tracks like this: http://screencast.com/t/bTUBv3ri2I

Thanks - I spoke with Robert (Tech Support) this morning and he helped me with this problem.

There is still, in my opinion, a steep "adjustment period" for veteran users of Camtasia. May I suggest a short "cheat sheet" showing "Here's how you used to do ..." Now, in version 8, Here is how you do ..."

If ever there was an example of how increment changes are better than a massive rewrite CS 8 seems to be it.
So much was changed and lost and the benefits for many are ....well, debatable

I must say that the TechSmith Tech Gurus have been very helpful to me in resolving my issues - with Call Outs and with Locating Tracks on the Timeline.

However, springing this MAJOR upgrade on a sizable and loyal user base without ANY sort of "Quick Start Guide" for what has "Changed," is inexcusable!

I am sure that I am not alone in wasting hours trying to figure out how to "undo" ingrained habits with Camtasia and frustrated with being unable to figure this out with Contextual Help!

As I said in my opening paragraph, the Technical Support personnel have been most helpful in getting "up to speed."
