In Camtasia Studio for Windows (8.1.1) when I crop two sections, split them, and add a Fade transition, the transition seems to use the screen from the cropped part.

In other words, after I crop it so that I like it, and then I add the transition, it will not be a perfect transition because it uses some of the cropped section which I don't want to use. Is there a way to make the transition use the very end of the left-hand side and the very beginning of the right-hand side without utilizing any cropped data?

A transition can't exist by itself...it has to be applied to a portion of video because it needs something to transition. If I understand your question properly then you can't do what you are trying to do...you have to apply it to some portion of video.

Hi Scott,

I'm pretty sure you are looking for this option (found in Tools > Options)

(see image)

Let me know if that helps, ok?

Yes, that's exactly what I was looking for Josh! I tested and it fixes my issue. I definitely prefer that setting to be unchecked, now that I know what it does.
