How do I copy a section of audio from my timeline, and paste into another part of the timeline?  Whenever I copy, it copies (and pastes) the video as well!

Hi Dave,

Thanks for writing in. I'm sorry it's taken us so long to respond.

There could be two reasons that the audio and video are getting copied and pasted together.

1. If you recorded the audio and video at the same time, they may be connected together as one track. If this is the case, right click on the clip and choose "Separate Video and Audio." This will put the audio and video on separate tracks and you can edit them separately. (This is true on both Mac and Windows)

2. This second one is more likely to happen in Camtasia Studio. If the audio and video are on separate tracks already, and it's still copying and pasting them together, you can stop it by locking the video track. Just hit the lock button to the left of the track with the video on it, then copy and paste the audio as usual.

Here's a video showing how to do both of these things in Camtasia Studio -

Let me know if you have any other questions/concerns!
